Green Concierge Travel Announces...

Green Concierge Travel presents at the International Ecotourism Conference in Portland, OR.

Liz Wessel, Owner of Green Concierge Travel, presented “Getting There, Getting Around – transportation choices for the green traveler. After looking at why the tourism industry should care about the North American transportation infrastructure, Liz covered examples of existing transportation choices and how the travel industry can get involved in both presenting choices to clients but also in creating more choices. New Mexico Launches Ecotourism Program

Anchored by a $250,000 appropriation approved by the New Mexico Legislature and Governor Bill Richardson, New Mexico officially launched EcoTourism New Mexico in 2010. The first two pilot areas will include Taos and the Gila Wilderness near Silver City, the world’s first designated wilderness area (June 3rd, 1924).

EcoNewMexico, partner and lead contractor to implement the program, has started to gather an inventory of ecotourism assets around the state and to bring people and businesses together to work on creating ecotourism products. EcoNewMexico will educate communities on ecotourism and develop ecotourism marketing approaches.
